A different approach to modelling figures

Just a bit of thought provoking here , have a look a the figure sat on the railbus in “Off Topic , A get well card for Mike Morgan .”

Actually , there is no figure . It is just a suggestion of one . All I have done is take some modelling clay , make a flat blanket , and shape it over an imaginary figure who is sat cross legged ,
Make a hat to suit . Put some bandana trailing out from the neck to indicate speed .
Sketch a rough pattern round the edge of the blanket . Make the blanket look as though it is moving by curling up the corners .

Result , one figure , 1 hour’s work , a load of fun , and there is no figure inside it . Good talking point at shows .
Also shuts up elitist figure modellers because you are not taking it seriously . Or , put another way , you are having fun .
So you see, anyone can make a figure , just use your imagination .

Whatever’s fun!

Making them is a lot of fun. I go through spurts. I hadn’t made any since the fire but the last week or so, I’ve been working on the baseball kids again.
