A coach for Bob

Is it done yet?

Well, the first one IS done…but that was a few years back…

This one will be olive colored, but I’m finding out that life is just getting in the way of completion, so it will take awhile. Probably my longest project to date…(https://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-embarassed.gif) (NOT a good thing!(https://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-surprised.gif))

May be the longest project to date, however look at the bright side… You are still able to work on it… hehehe (http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-cool.gif)

Completion date: Whenever… (http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-tongue-out.gif)

Sort of goes along with this one:

The bitterness of poor quality remains long after the sweetness of meeting the schedule has been forgotten.

…we used that a LOT back when I was in software development. (https://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-embarassed.gif)Not that it ever changed anything…(https://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-cry.gif)

Or; “There is never enough time to do it right, but there is always enough time to do it over.” The philosophy that many of my previous supervisors seamed to follow.

I have know all along you were in the closet with Amtrak ! But I guess everyone seems to be coming out these days?

Finished this just barely in time…but it WAS delivered to Bob’s. I ended up painting the exterior with Krylon Satin Finish Italian Olive and used Satin Black on the roof, after covering it with foil tape. Everything got a coat or two of clear satin finish.

I think I am now officially senile: I had painted the vestibule doors and was getting ready to glaze them…and there they were, gone! (https://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-embarassed.gif)I tried designing my own doors to fit, but that was a bit less than successful. I contacted Alan, who had designed and laser cut the original pieces and he sent me a .dxf file. It probably stands for something, but the good news is that I could import it into Autodesk 360 Fusion. The bad news is I didn’t have a clue on what to do with it so I could use it. But after a LOT of trial and error (mostly error), I was able to convert them to 3D objects and print them! Woo hoo! Anyway, it IS done and delivered. Thanks to “Hollywood” for the extra shots! Interesting …What happened to the bottle of BD MIX ? That wasn’t (was not) for you to consume!

Oh crud! I bet it’s with my disappearing doors!(http://largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-foot-in-mouth.gif)

for an interior like this there should be a layout at eye level

Viewing it in person was a real treat. Bruce’s skill level really shows. The coach needs to have a little trimming done on the frame to allow it to negotiate tighter, realistic curves on a garden railroad. It will work with a little adjustment. Prototype meets modeling reality, once again.

.

Great work, by all involved.

Great work Bruce. Another fine build among many of yours. I’m always impressed.

Doc

Another great looking build, very nicely done, another one for Jim’s great builds

Thanks, Bill. The problem with trying to keep a post of great builds is just one of maintenance - which is hard! I “circumvented” the problem - sort of. I created an ARTICLE that contains all of MY builds, and I even update it occasionally. (https://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-foot-in-mouth.gif)

BUT, it’s handy for ME, whenever I need to find something I did - just so I can see HOW I did it!

Very nice enjoyed the viewing, Bill
