A close shave, Lands End to John o Groats

After a round trip of 1870 miles its done. This is a shot 15 and a bit hours after leaving Lands End on Sunday. Very nasty all the way up from Inverness, gusty wind and rain. Cold too. Coming back was better, the A9 down from Drumochter was bright and sunny and a great road. Just outside of Newcastle I nearly got killed. I was about to overtake on a single carraigeway where it widened for a junction. I thought about it and then thought “Nah it looks a bit tight” An Impreza just missed me. I never saw it coming it was there and gone like camera flash, I saw the drive and the passinger as clear as day for a split second. There was no sensation it of coming or going, it was just there and then it was nt. They passed me at arms length and showered me with the junk from the sterile hatched area. Behind them were 3 traffic cars and over the next 10 miles we counted another 10 converging, the police helicopter and a unit on the packing up a stinger I wonder what this bloke had done to get so much attention. It turns out it was the toerag that pinched the diesel from the local farm the other day. While escaping he drove at the farmer breaking his pelvis and his mother died from shock as a result. I have no doubt if I decided to overtake it would have been a head on, very scary. Home now tho, thank goodness.

Whoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!! Lucky boy, you!

Shame nobody was waiting around the bend with a Javelin or similar to take this POS off the planet.

V happy that you are ok.
