A Challenge runoff - Miss Congeniality

Since we have a third prize, courtesy of Ralph Berg to give out this year, and only two runaway winners, Dave and I have pretty much agreed the fairest way to… get rid of it :stuck_out_tongue: … is a quick runoff for “Miss Congeniality” IE Youse guys who had so much trouble picking the first time get to give a shout out for your second (or third) choice. We’ll run this voting from the moment this thread is posted, until Midnite Pacific time Valentine’s Day. You can cast your vote based on either the model, build log, or both. Everyone who was eligible for the last vote is eligible again.

And the runoff contestants are:

And thanks for your patience…

My vote goes to Todd.

It was a tough choice, they are all special in their own way.

Since I couldn’t make up my mind and I can’t vote for all of the above, I threw all the names in a hat and drew out …

Aaron Loyett

As has already been said, these are really all WINNERS!

Congratulations ALL!!

Bob C.

They are all winners, so I chose Ron for his very different build.

Todd!

what to use as distinguishing reason for a vote?

i decided to look for precision work.

just because, even if one makes a “run-down” heavily weathered modell, it helps to have a sound base to start from.

for most precise work i vote for joe zullo’s gondola.

Todd

I’m still amazed at the variety of builds. It is like we all got the same seeds but when they sprouted and grew we had very different flowers.

I’m in a back woods RR mood and my vote is for Terry Burr and his work tender flat.

Loyett’s tender.

I would like to cast my vote for Todd Haskins

Terry Burr’s crane tender

Todd. Because of his scratchbuilding and the neatness of his work.

But Geez, for some of these same qualities there’s at least two others I’d give my vote to in a heartbeat. Really tough choice!

The paintjob and the fact Todd’s model is powered - that was creative - are the factors that tipped it for me.

But as far as I’m concerned everybody taking a shot at this thing makes it a great challenge and a lot of fun!

Cheers all 'round!

Aaron Loyett

Aaron Loyett. A very nice build of a neat prototype car.

Doc Tom

I vote for Todd Haskins and his MAC Speeder. It is the only motorized entry and it turned out great!
