A bit of fun on the Party car

Another cold and damp day prevented regular train service from starting this Sunday but it didn’t stop some of the Blue Crew from hanging the new Disco ball in the Party car and cracking open some suds.

New batteries had the lights flashing and the piano sounds pounding.

Love it!
I might have to build something like that for my train as well. :ok_hand: :+1:

Not as elegant as Todd’s car, but the Tappe Kegga De Fieldtrip car did claim a blue ribbon at the 1997 DC area garden railway convention. I’ve been doing whimsicals for a long time. It is shown “tied” to the companion accommodation car.

I like it Dave. I trust the companion car was towed behind and not in front of the party car?

My car has the Loo in the enclosed section.

I’ve always loved Todd Brody’s “California Experience” party car…

Todd;

The accommodation car does indeed get spotted behind the Tappe Kegga De Fraternity’s (pronounced “Tap a keg a day”) excursion car, at least on the outgoing part of the trip. Usually by the return trip, the brothers have consumed so many libations that it doesn’t matter which end that car is on, just so long as the frat brothers can find it!

Is this where the taunt “Long walk off a short pier” originated. They had to at least bet on who made it back to the main car by days end without any handrails across. :sunglasses:

David;

I think after consuming copious libations, the Tappe Kegga De frat brothers tend to crawl over that gangway. I had thought about railings, buy Hey, it’s a whimsical! Todd Brody’s car looks even more hazardous.

No … I believe it goes back to the Susquehannatuckyn tribe. Legend has it, the “a” was added later for “proper English”, so basically it was pronounced with heavy firm monotone voice.
