Yes I moved into that stage of the project on Saturday! Off with her Head! Cylinder heads that is, razor saws are nifty things!
I didn;t feel that the Engine assembly was quite tall enough on Shay No9 so I rasied the barrel by 3/8 of an inch. Yes the main and valve rods had to be raised extended as well. ITs really not as difficult as one might think, The Bachmann Shay engine assembly just looks daunting and complicated.
Brand new Cylinders and assorted details are added, larger cylinders also helped with enlarging the whole engine assembly.
Assembly mounted in place, looks good if I do say so myself, note that the drivelines have been extended in each direction!!!
