I got the rest of the decals applied so, here’s the finished builders photo.
Now, I just have to get up the nerve to weather it.

Fantastic job. As real looking as it gets

nice graphics
Looking good!
So how are you?
You don’t have to weather too much, do you?
Thanks guys,
Mark, I’m really tired of feeding with a syringe…but, I’m just less than a week away from seeing the doctor and having the wires cut - he says he’ll replace the wires with rubberbands to help train my jaw to go where it should. He said that should be only a week or so then they will remove all the hardware (really looking forward to that, but I’ll be glad to be able to lick my lips, spit, talk, eat, take deep breaths…it’s amazing how psychotic this ordeal has become, but the end is in sight…kinda.

The model looks great. I’m so glad you have this outlet to help you recover. I can’t imagine going through what you are. At least you have a hobby to keep your mind active. Without the something to do in your situation I’d go nuts!
I just got around to reading this thread… First off, so sorry to hear of your accident and the ensuing ordeal of recovery! Having your jaw wired shut has got to be rough.
Secondly, WOW!!! What a sweet build! And the step-by-step is very educational… the techniques used can be applied to any model regardless of era, gauge or scale.
Brian
That x-ray you see is of my own mug!
So I can feel your pain!
When I had my feeding tube ( Radiation to neck area ) I inserted a COLD BEER and you could feel the cold ness going down but no tast(Bummer), But I did Did get a buzz!!
Sean
Thanks guys,
Sean, I figured it was your skull…I didn’t appreciate it until I got my own CAT scan CD and was able to slice thru my own head on the monitor, then the next time I looked at you xray I understood better what I was looking at.
I’m hoping one day I can look back and laugh…not feeling it right now though.
That is one superb railroad car Brian. You have made a wonderful job creating it.
Regarding your accident; I can’t imagine the pain that you have experienced nor the subsequent discomfort and inconvenience. I guess a small crumb of comfort was being able to put your mind upon completing the model, thank heavens we have a creative hobby.

If you think of all the crapp we go thru as curve balls in the game of life…
I’t going to take more than that to get you/me!
I’ts great to have a hobby like this to get lost in mentally when it gets to much!
I hope you feel better with time.
Sean
P.S. Oh ya great work!!
Thought I’d bring this back to the top with the great news that AML will be doing a 50ft car like this.

Just leave it parked on a siding for a week and let the taggers weather it
