I was running my streamliner set, then decided it would be fun to pull the cars with 844. After that I hooked the Challenger up, both use the same tender.
Jerry, they look great…
Jerry, they look really great. Your Spring is sure further along than ours is. Just got more snow last weekend. Gonna take me a month to ready my layout again. By the way, anyone who can take the time to trim their grass so neatly along their landscape stone has Wayyyy too much spare time. Come on over!
Way too cool Jerry, your models are almost making me want to go back and model Union Pacific again.

Jerry nice as always. Love seeing your collection and layout.
Nice shots Jerry. And two great builds not to include the homemade passenger cars.
…grinning…
Thanks guys, still tinkering with both of them. 844 wobbles some, so got into the old drive mechanism and took out the play that two of the axles have. So hope that cures that problem. Challenger is doing pretty good with the Delrin sprocket/chain drive on the front drivers. Had a gear to gear set up, but it was noisy.
So when does the Big Boy build start?
NO more big locomotives Bart. Too big a pain to get them out to the track from my shed.
Great stuff, Sir. Movies, please.
I feel your pain about moving big locos around - my Garratt weighs in at just under 37 pounds with a full boiler…pretty soon I’m going to have to build me a mobile loading dock in the form of a section of tangent to carry on loading it on and off the track. All those wiggly wheels hiding underneath are a RPITA to get lined up, so I’m just glad I don’t run it on 32mm gauge track as it should be run - now THAT would be even worse.

Yeah, yeah, yeah…i say that too, and every year I build another one…
Jerry Barnes said:Jerry, You just need to build a climate controlled Engine House on the layout to park them in ;) Ralph
