4th New Year's Scratchbuild Challenge from the Little River Guy

Terrific car build!

Beautiful photos, Tom, especially those low-angle ones! Photographers cry, “Hooray for real daylight!”

Thanks Guys, This has been a fun build. Ralph, I would love to build a couple more to haul the rock but Boss Crumb is pooped after a month of this “Challenge.” He is heading to a local watering hole for some much deserved rest.

As the “challenge” winds down this weekend I wanted to say Thank You So Much to Mr Dave Taylor for the very nice kit that got me in gear to do this build. Also a thank you to Mik for pushing this through for 4 years now. I think it is a great way to overcome winter time lethargy and get some modeling done. Thank you both.

Well said Tom!

Hey Tom,

That is definitely a winner!!! Great job on the car and I love the way you put together your little scenes on your railroad.

Chuck

Thanks Chuck. Very kind words.

Tom

That looks really great Tom. I too enjoy your little vignettes. I really am going to have to learn how to do weathering as it definitely adds to the charm.

Thanks Ron. This has been a fun build.

I used a dilute wash of India Ink (teaspoonful in a pint of Isopropyl Alcohol) as it stains wood very nicely. I also lightly dry brushed the car, trucks and coupler with craft acrylic paints.

It was fun to weather this car as it really a sidelined MOW car only called in to action when a washout has taken out some roadbed high in the Smoky Mountains.
