“What’s this Daddy?”… I have a toddler who is starting to get inquisitive; and, I would like to begin detailing my Big-hauler. Unfortunately, I am reaching the very shallow limits of my knowledge about steam locomotives, specifically, the different names and definitions for the parts on an engine. You can see how this would make it difficult to kitbash and detail. So, can anyone recommend a good source (web, book, magazine, etc) that identifies the parts and diagrams a 4-6-0 like B’manns Big Hauler. I can’t really afford the Tweetsie maintenance manuals, but I figure there’s got to be something out there. I seem to remember that a past magazine might have gone into the 4-6-0 schematics.
