24" Grb Irons

I am building a 20.3 model of the DRG&W rotary snowplow. I need 24" grab irons for the plow. I have checked Hartford and Ozark but didn’t find any 24" grab irons. Does anyone know where I can find 24" grab irons or a jig to make them. I can use brass wire for the grab irons, but they tend to look like large staples and I would prefer better looking grab irons.

Phil has 18" if you can live with those:

in case, you have to make your own jig, use square nails, instead of round ones.
that makes for sharper bends.

Interesting idea Korm…mason nails

Doesn’t Ozark make them as well?

someone posted about using a jig from a resistor or electronics thing. I haven’t found it since, but the original post showed him making several duplicate grab pieces on this jig. Would be a great thing to have. Wish I could remember what he used.

Joe,

Here is a link to a jig and methodology I used in making some for an ongoing build of mine. Not sure it is what you are looking for, but take a peek and see…

something like these but it looks different. Like from an electronics supplier.
It’s sad that my memory is failing so early???
