Just around the corner
The folks doing 3d scanning will be there this year Figure Fusion, who were quite reasonable a couple of years ago, and can do sitting poses. I suspect Bernard is staying in Canada.

CINCHOUSE has a new hybrid, so that would cut the fuel cost. Unfortunately, for all the buttons and doo-dads new cars seem to have, none of the buttons activate an amphibious mode!

The show is amazing but such a commitment to get to. I saw a flyer from the local club that is running a bus to it. The ticket is $75 and covers parking $5 and the $18 cost to get in. I don’t know. How much will it cost in gas up and back to drive myself the 330 mile round trip?
I used to take the bus when it was $50 but then due to internal politics, the club ended the bus. I guess it is back now?
I’ll be there with NHGRS and my brand new modules! Very excited for it. I hope to see some of you there
Someone please find out if they will be doing the Large Scale Show again? It would be great to see old friends again.
Then again, Jon moved too far away. Hey Jon, are you going to run a show for us at EBT? Could be another great place for a reunion. How many will that shed sleep?
Lou,
Do not quote me on this but i heard it was downsizing and moving to there clubhouse in Palmer. last years gate with the bigger space didnt work out financially.

That’s a shame but certainly understandable.
The show might have been too late in the Spring and it was one of the nicest Saturdays weather wise in months so I’d say that people were out and about doing everything but going to a train show.
There is certainly lots of interest in large scale trains but they are still a nitch in a hobby that isn’t what it used to be.

I know more than I should about the NELSTS. The current intention is that it will happen again in the future, but not in 2026. Another smaller event may take place, but this is still being finalized.
ARS may be giving an official answer for this at the RHS inn a few weeks, but I haven’t heard anything for several months.
If anyone has interest in helping, in any way, with the NELSTS, feel free to let me know. I can pass it on up the ladder.
Yes, last year’s attendance was in the neighborhood of abysmal. But I sure had a heck of a time! Always awesome seeing you mugs!
And dang, I’d hoped to sell a bunch of stuff…
Anyway, I’m disappointed, and in need of an alternative.
Any suggestions, anyone? Perhaps identify the TrainOps weekend early, and include the NELSTS folks as an optional open house? Or vice versa, build the TrainOps around whenever they have their meet at their clubhouse?
But heck, maybe it would be easier to just show up at Radder’s with our various mobile train equipment and lawn chairs, and see what breaks.
re: NELSTS. There’s been some discussion about “How do we get the large scale show to be successful?” but as far as I know it’s off for the foreseeable future. Too bad, I was hoping it would become “a thing.”
That said, I may make my way to the Big E show on Sunday. I have a previous engagement on Saturday.
I believe @Neil_Wiggins Neil might have a national alternative this coming month of January. It’s conveniently on your way too!
Indeed we do Bill, (Cliff). 15th New Zealand Garden Railway Convention, 6 - 8 Feb. I’m hosting lunch on the Saturday.
All welcome, just a short 12 hr flight from San Fran for left coasters. Right hand side may need to pack a lunch for the extra travel…
Cliff I believe we discussed you bringing some salads for the table? Are you saying you’ve forgotten!
Cheers
N
We would have brought California sushi rice ala CINCHOUSE. But, alas, the drive is a bit much…
Eric, get Cliff to pick you up. You’re on the way…
