2025 Spring Running - Post your pictures here

Hi guys,
It snowed up here in October and November and December and then mostly just…quit. We haven’t had snow to plow since the end of January.

I finally succeeded in connecting my GP7 to my recently acquired GP9. I ran a long (for me) train as a test. I can now haul 23 cars up my 2% grades. Here is the train passing through Mosca yesterday:

I am guessing this new motive power arrangement can handle 5-10 more cars on the grades.

Cheers,
Matt

Just beautiful, Matt.

You should start making calendars.

[edit, here’s an example printing source, there are many]

Excellent scenery. Your pics are always the best with that backdrop.

I won’t be doing any more Spring Running as the escape to the outdoor was severed yesterday. This pic is reposted from my Farewell thread.

Thanks Cliff! Maybe someday…

Thanks Jon. Your sound system is in the second diesel. Sorry to hear about the demise of the CVSR.

Cheers,
Matt

Passenger service on the permanent tracks of the M&K Sugar Plantation and Agricultural Cooperative…

…good company PR and a bit of profit, too!

Meanwhile, MOW train passes through a tunnel.

Elsewhere, a passenger noted newly arrived “foreign cars” brought in to help meet the increasing need of the Island of No’u’ea!

That took to narrow gauge service quite well, as did similar cars that served Oahu Railway & Land Co.

I took my Goose #6 out for a track inspection with its recently rehabbed battery, and only found tw areas of concern. both on the big bridge 45A the rail has pulled apart by about 1/2 total on both rails, probably due to shifting foundations. i will piece in some nickel silver here to fill the gaps. otherwise the goose ran fine over the outdoor section of the railroad.
