The Great Lakes Large Scale Train Expo is set to take place on May 9th and 10th, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM each day at the Metroplex Expo Center in Girard, Ohio. Admission will be available at the door, $8 for a single day or $14 for a two-day pass. As it gets closer, we will also open up online ticket sales and as a bonus for getting your ticket(s) online you’ll get in a half earlier!
This isn’t a brand-new event but rather I heavily upgraded and improved existing one. Formerly known as the North East Ohio Large Scale Train Show which just finished is 4th successful year it was clear changes were needed to accommodate the increased interest and attendance. A new larger venue with ample free parking, easy ground level access (no stairs or elevators to worry about), garage bay loading and unloading for vendors, numerous hotels within a half mile radius and plenty of places to eat.
Here are some highlights of the event:
G Gauge and Larger Ride On Trains: The expo will feature G gauge trains all the way up to 7.5" gauge ride on trains and accessories for sale.
Exhibitor and Club Displays: Various exhibitors showing their work and operating G gauge club layouts.
Clinics and Workshops: Several clinics/workshops to help Improve your skills.
Kids Clinics: Several “Making Trains Fun” clinics aimed at getting the youth engaged and hands on with the great hobby of Large Scale Model Railroading.
Hourly Door Prizes: Exciting prizes to be won throughout the event.
Food and Refreshments: No need to leave the show to get reenergized as their will be plenty to eat and drink on-site.
