2025 Fall Running - Post Your Pictures Here

Kid-zilla offers the following. As he likes to do, he also includes his or the 1:124 crews’ thoughts.

Here is a picture of the wreck sans commentary.

We never did figure out what caused Three Eyes to jump the plantation tracks and end up on the mainline!

On behalf of Kid-zilla,

Eric

A few weeks ago my oldest and I ran at the Triple Falls Lumber and Mining Company railroad. Redirecting...

Full story here.

In a couple more weeks I’m taking him along for a full day of OPS during the annual Oly Ops event. It will be his first time operating on a smaller scale layout.

Awesome blog! Really cool railroad and really cool father-and-son time!

Yah my two younger boys are getting slightly annoyed that we are going off and playing trains but neither one of them is old enough AND mature enough to handle some operations. The middle one keeps insisting that I get RC cars for my layout as he proceeds to drive matchbox cars all over the tracks…

I recently attended a steam up in Nebraska on two great layouts.

I brought my 13 ton Shay:

And the USRA 0-6-0

It was a great weekend

Pennsylvania and the East Broad Top are still waiting for Fall - this weekend the temps were in the 80s! There were 4 special activities: the Trolley Museum had a Fall Spectacular on the 4th and ran all their operational equipment - my wife got a ride in the Liberty Liner [click] along the Shade Gap Branch. Then there was the Friends of the East Broad Top having their Annual Reunion, and the 16mm Association, North America Group, running trains on Mike’s portable gauge 1 track.
The East Broad Top ran a lot of equipment that isn’t usually seen, M-1 and M-3 took trips, the speeders were out, and #16 did it’s thing.

In the spirit of this thread being about models, here’s my C&S #22.

EBT extended the tails on their turn-around wyes a year or so ago, and you can see why - the trains are getting long!

I also ran my Regner Heisler with the LGB feldbahn cars.

Finally, the view over the layout to the EBT station, #16 just returning from Colgate Grove, with the ‘silver speeder’ on the right.

Red Arrow Liberty Liner, cool! Red Arrow had bus fleets too. I road them as a kid.

^^That’s a 100 car freight train!!^^

Went around many times, but then this happened! Derailed lead GP with a powered GP and SD bearing down on it plus 100 cars behind that!

Parts were on hand and B&M is already up and running with no other issues.

@PeterT I’m glad I at least caught you for a few minutes. We stopped back several times later and you had either wandered off or were engaged in conversation  In any case, it was good seeing you. If you folks will be back in May for the '26 reunion, I’ll plan on running my Shay.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen one painted green. It looks great!!

@JRad thanks for dropping by. A good time was had by all.

Due to health and bad weather, I have been unable to run anything, but I am posting these to show I have been up to something. If you are from the East Coast, and over 30, you should remember this great place to shop. Always had great bargains right after Christmas.
So if you will join Mr. Peabody, step back into the Wayback Machine and…

I had a rare Aristo undecorated Piggyback car. Cotton Belt was the available flatcar decals.

I found the Two Guys as a sticker on ebay.
They had great model bargains right after Christmas. Just a few miles from where I live. Sadly, the tracks that went to the back of the store are long gone. I was told that before Christmas they would get boxcars of toys. [sigh]

After their retail business faltered due to competition from up-start Wal-Mart, they hooked up with three more guys and created the now famous hamburger stand!

Well I meet the qualifications but I don’t remember them. Perhaps you need to add about 15yrs or 20yrs to your over 30 criteria cause I’m 55.

Lou;

I remember E J Korvets, but don’t think Two Guys had much of a presence in the Hershey/Harrisburg part of PA.

Best, David Meashey

That’s another place sadly long gone. I met my first wife there. I still have a golf club I bought there for $5. Dad and I used to buy records, I could not afford Stereo, they were a dollar more.

Yes they did! I bought many HO trains there. Good prices on many items back then.

E J Korvettes = Eight Jewish Korean war vets (veterans) Plan was 8 stores, they got to 7. The last vet ended with an office, procurement? manager?

You old guys gonna sit here and jingle your pocket change while standing in line at a diner waiting for breakfast or are you gonna “Post Your Fall Running Pictures” ?

Hey Dave, Old Guys love doing that because it irritates the crap out of all the young people that are always in such a hurry.
