Our snow is civilized, it melts by noon!

Wow winter railroading is tough!
It really is. I think I’ll go back to watching winter from the warm side of the windows (https://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-surprised.gif)
It’s a good thing Ken wasn’t there or he would have run up and took a wiz on Shorty while he was laying there vulnerable!

No he wouldn’t. Ken doesn’t do snow.

John, yea, I feel the same way.

Then Ken should send me his plow car so I can put it to use

If he decides to do such you are granted trackage rights on the CVRR for the movement
After a day in the shop all equipment / personnel has been repaired and is back in service. Locomotive M-11 had three steps pop off and a handrail break which were all easy to glue back on. The engineer came unglued. He is right as rain now physically, but may still be mentally unglued. The only permanent scar is a scuff on the edge of a running board. Since the plastic underneath is also red you need to hunt to find it. “Shorty” had a few hand rails bent and a roof board pop loose. Again, simple fixes with glue. No noticeable damage to the plow. The load was recovered, dried of and placed back in the gondola.
I did not venture outside at all today except 2 minutes to haul the trash can to the street. It was 74 in the shop, 20 something outside.
That’s a thing about garden railways, at least a portion of the weathering effects aren’t merely special effects.
Stream of logic, sort of - my health is a mess and any temperature below 50F is uncomfortable to downright painful; snow takes labor to deal with; garden railways take labor and expense to build and maintain; snow weather is painful; trains look good in snow; trains sometimes get damaged in snow; damage takes labor and expense to repair; trains look good in snow; trains plowing snow look good; I wish I had my own railway to plow snow on.
According to National Weather Service, here is what we are looking at. Had 2 inches snow Christmas Eve, first accumulation of the winter.

After that incident, if I were the engineer, I would be a bit unglued too.
The WW&F Railway Museum hosted its annual Victorian Christmas event two consecutive weekends this year. good thing too because the second weekend featured NASTY weather. snow and freezing rain. I was fortunate enough to be indoors running models:
With the recent snow and single digit temperatures, I thought why sit inside by the fire like Ken and cry. I decided to get the plow car that Ken never sent up and clear the line.
We woke up to a white Christmas and my son opened up his new gift and wanted to test it out on the line. After getting the line plowed out we ran my sons new Dash 9 poweredboxcar.
After Christmas we were blessed with cold temps. What do you do when the temp is in the single digits and the windchill is below 0? Run a live steam trains.
First ting is too warm up by the fire with some coffee.

Am is seeing things right? Are there no bodies in that powered boxcar?
Shawn, you are what this hobby is made for. Great shots of the trains. Hope you didn’t have too much trouble getting his eyes back in their sockets(https://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-cool.gif)

I’m not seeing fresh gons that the boy got for Christmas either ?
Is that a Rooster weather vane stuck in the snow?
Nope it’s just a SteamPunk weather vane if it’s even that!

Holy crap!!! Did the Chief Engineer approve the trestle for that much weight? Best use lots of idler flats if pulling any loaded cars (https://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-surprised.gif)
I would once again like to remind Shawn that’s it’s not all about him and glad to see the boy has trackage rights as well
