Jon,
I hope you get some thawing weather soon, buddy. I don’t know if I could go as long as you Northerners without running some trains. I get buggy after a couple of days without my train fix! (http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-cool.gif)
Thats where belonging to an HO gauge club, 2 HO guage clubs, and building stuff helps to get me my train fix.

Just to rub it in… Might snow, tonight, but I doubt it.
Steve, What is this yard on your railroad?
Ric, depending on the phase of the moon, it is either Lairds, on the western end of the Washington, Idaho & Montana, or Bovil, on the eastern end. (http://largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-wink.gif)
Weather was great Sunday and today. I even got home an hour before the sun went over the mountain but the water pouring down from snow melting on the roof was washing out my track so I decided not to get my stuff wet.

Yes it was and couldn’t get enough of it, but the ground sure is mushy from all the water. Took a break from building turnouts and enjoyed the sun!
Though windy, this weekend’s weather was warm enough to finally get out and clear the last bit of ice and snow from the mainline and see if things were still operable. Sadly I have a pretty big dip in my upper loop that will need attention ASAP, but I’m happy to report that the rest of the mainline appears to be in decent shape.
I ran a train for the first time in months, and even then it was a plow train. I got out my Reading and Northern snoot nose SD40-2 for the first time and some AML bethgons for their first run as well. Here’s a pic:
I plan to do some detailing to the pilot yet, but it was nice to see this project’s wheels turning somewhere other than on rollers at the workbench.
The CVSRy finally got an inspection train out on the line yesterday. There are plenty of spots that need leveling and the entire railroad hasn’t been ballasted in several years; but all track is passable with slow orders in spots. Sorry for the cross-post of some photos if you’ve seen these in other threads, but they fit here too!
Engineer George kept a watchful eye on the track as #5 shoved the inspection train caboose first…
Along the line some green is emerging from the ground…
Returning past Wall…

Easter marked the first nice day of spring that I was able to get out and run trains, and I had a lot of fun. I got my Reading T-1 out and put it to work on a mixed freight instead of the usual coal duty that loco has seen lately.
Wall does look really good John. Yep, a real nice photo op.
I like your T-1, CZ. Is that a home brew?
CZ,
That B/W picture could be mistaken for the real thing! Good work. (http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-smile.gif)
Hey Look!!! Idaho finally got SNOW. Easter was nice and sunny, then we woke up to this.
Spring has sprung in the UK too. It’s been a beautiful sunny day here with temperatures up to 18 degrees. The garden is greening up, the trees are in blossom and the flowers are starting to bloom. It’s a great time of year for us garden railway people.
Nice color Keith, Thanks for sharing.

Keith,
That would probably mean 18ºC (64.4ºF).
