We’ll be there…tomorrow. Does it look any different? Is there service?

Restaurant is now a ballroom and the bar is a bar/pub. Room looks different, at least new paint and fixtures

We’ll be there about 1900. See everyone there!

Fred stopped in for several hours at my place and it was nice to get to meet him in person and to share a drink as well as run some fun trains. I’m looking forward to heading down to the show tomorrow.

See you all there!

I have stayed 4 times in the past year and watched the changes. The food is pretty good and the prices reasonable. The only problem was they ran out of my favorite beers when I was there with the wife and friends.

Compared to last year, the vendor hall seemed more filled out to me today. There’s not a big empty space in the back. True, there’s a layout there, and that’s smart. But the empty space this year, I think, is much less.

Just a subjective opinion, from a quick and incomplete walk-thru.

Looking forward to the D&B, and meeting some of you guys tomorrow evening.

Cliff

Be Careful traveling y’all! Have Fun and Spend LOTSa money (at the train show!)

cale; heading to the Cabbage Patch Adoption Hospital in GA today (please pray for the boys and I!)

I guess the queue will be starting soon.

Business seemed brisk this morning, saw lots of product leaving the building.

Things slowed a bit toward the afternoon. Best part was seeing everyone again. Drag-n-brag awaits us tonight. Can’t wait !

Pat

I had a good time talking with everyone. Not enough time in a day to really catch up and talk with everyone. So many people I wanted to BS with but didn’t get the chance wish I was a little more awake but I think the 3.5 hr drive takes a toll and the 4 hrs back in one day. I felt the vendor hall had less this year then last. I heard some did not show up. Seemed to me the back center was empty. To fill that space some they had a layout to replace some of that empty space. I didnt really go to buy anything just to catch up with great people. I did get to run my Climax for a bit.

Hope everyone has a good time today.

Yup, really great to meet every one. What a great bunch of people. The show was good, the Drag and Brag was even better. I with intention of getting a few brass castings and Clem at Warrior Run, more than covered the task of supplying them . I also chanced on two Hoppers that I couldn’t leave the show without. So we will be leaving for home after breakfast this morning smiling. I’ll leave you with a few shots to shed a light on some of the hard work and prep that goes into the event…

I left the RC equipment I got from Lou on the D&B table. If someone has it I’ll pay you back if you mail it to me.

My wife and I were at the show Friday. Only spent 75% of my budget this year.

Got to the show at 10:00 thanks to backups around the Baltimore beltway compounded our late start from the Eastern Shore. Walked right in at 10:00 and found it fairly easy no navigate, with the choke points around Nichols Smith(?), G Scale Junction and Charles Ro. G Scale Junction had lines 10 deep most of the morning.

I did notice that for some items prices were consistent between vendors. Also noticed that a couple of vendors announcing retirement sales there (the plant vendor and the vendor in the next booth). Was looking for flex ties and no one had them. I’ll order a block from the Reindeer Pass website today.

Talked to Hartland and they will be announcing the next release in their anniversary editions soon and will have a sample at Denver. I know my next loco purchase will be their “The General” once funds are available.

Spent some time talking to Dave and his son at the Bridgewerks booth. Mentioned to him that the cooling fan of my 15 amp supply is starting to make some noise and he offered to send me a replacement. Awesome support…

So, my haul amounted to:
Piko St. George county church from Piko/Garden Tracks.
Scenic Figures cemetery set from G Scale Junction.
3 figures plus a half dozen wood beer/whiskey barrels for the saloon from the “Just Plain Folk” dealer.
Dallee “small steam” sound board / speaker and magnets to install in my existing Hartland LePort from Dallee.
Several strips of while LED lights to replace failed lights in a number of coaches and an LED to replace the failed headlight in my old style Aristocraft C-16 from RAM Products.

With one kid in college and a second starting in a year, capital expenditures for the Silver Fox Railroad are limited to my coin jar for the next 5 years. On tap for next year will be more buildings or flats, the loco and some more track.

We got to the show about 1030 or so on Friday and found it pretty crowded with customers. The vendor area seemed to be missing a few vendors, but a lot of people were walking out with stuff. Notably absent from my point of view were any tool or supply guys. (http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-frown.gif)

It was also a bit less crowded in the layout hall, but the alcove was going full blast.

Here we see Ken, Doug, and Bob.

And the rooster was found over at Ric’s Timesaver.

But, on the wall as something that really got the rooster’s attention:

Haha…but it was right side up when I took the picture! Anybody know a way to rotate the picture? It is right side up on my computer and when I display it on the web.

These guys weren’t in the alcove, but they were near the house on fire that produced a lot of smoke that ended up in the alcove.

Meanwhile, the alcove became a great gathering and resting spot. (L-R: John, Fred, Dave, Terry, Daktah)

Gary Buchanan has it. We wernt sure you were going to be at the show sat, since I headed home this morning.

Great show and I liked seeing many faces that I recognized from here. While this wasn’t the LSC alcove this was my favorite photo from the show:

That’s not true Bruce because you had the camera tilted at that angle when you took it so that is the way it is going to display!
