Large Scale Central

2011 challenge-backwoods train station

Ok so I know what I wnat to build the questions is when will I start it. Everytime I try to start this someone gets sick. Like today got a call my little guy is sick and had to pick him up. Maybe if I have it posted it will motivate me.

I dont know Shawn. Maybe you should do a first aid station.

or a Doctor’s office…

When will it be done?

Rooster, he could get it done if he spent a little less time doing the ‘snowshoeing/X-country sking thing’. Where are his priorities anyways.

Well he needs to do that to keep in shape for his work. When idiots like us decide to go to his park and photograph Yeti’s on there 50yr mating cycle, on a cliff, during a blizzard and get stuck while doing such, he’s the one that has to get us out?

One would think a 50cal would be a eayer way to get you down and on top of it we dont have to warry about you doing it again. :D

LOL very true but then Ill have to spend years in court and then jail. I doubt they will let me build a layout in jail. I got held back again. Had to keep the little guy home today so I ended up setting up a big loop of track in the kitchen and we have been running Thomas. Cant wait till mom sees what we did to her kitchen LOL. Especially after she ordered my Birthday present - I know what it is but cant tell ya's yet.

It sure is true. But I do have to say my 23 month old is obsessed with trains. He turns everything into a choo choo, even his food.

Did SWMBO get her kitchen back when she came home from work?

LOL nope its still set up as of this morning. She keeps tripping on it LOL

So I made some progress on my station this morning before work. Got the main frame put together. Next is add siding. Sorry no pictures ran out of time.

I can’t what to see the pictures. Your builds are always very detailed.

a week and a half, and no pictures… this thread is absolutely worthless…

I hope this thread is a little more usefull for you Andy. I keep forgetting you cant read and need pictures. I started with the main frame for the building. Im using popular for wood since thats what I have around. A little thompson waterseal and it will last. I have stuff on my layout made with the same wood and has lasted almost 3 years with no signs of rot. Look its Andys three wheel bicycle in the background

Then I added the side roof frame and added the cutouts for the windows and doors.

Once they are covered with siding they will be to scale. Have to build to hold up in the heavy snows in these parts.

lol, Shawn… good job…
