I thought it would be easier to do a seperate post on my finished project rather then go through pages to get to it. My project was to build a train station. The only research that went into it was going through a bunch of photos with train stations until I found something I liked. I came up with the current design from Garden RR plans but like all my stuff I tweaked it some to fit into my logging theme. Total cost for the project $0. I had everything on hand. Most of the station was built using wood - main beams are poplar while the siding and floor is cedar. Most of the details I either built or from ozarks that I had on hand. The roof is real metal rusted that I got off of an old local barn that was collapsed. I put the station on the layout for pictures but it is not where it will end up. Too much snow in the spot it will eventualy go.

And as Randy said “bottle caps for signs…brilliant.” After all the bottle cap shaped signs I’ve seen in real life over the years I wonder why I never thought of it. Thanks for a great idea to steal…!!! :slight_smile:

Thanks guys. Now I really cant wait for the snow to melt so I can put the station out and hook up some lights to the inside and add a little more details. My goal for Spring is to add details to all my scenes. I have been getting a bunch of figures to bring those scenes to life.

Very nice job.
I like the smalls scenes, like the cop wielding the blackthorn near the sleeping man.

Great Job :smiley: very nicely built with lots of activity and the bottle caps for signage is an idea I too will put away in my book of detailing tricks!
