Just wondering who else is setting up a display for Christmas? The Gateway Garden Railroad Club has our layout set up at the Oliver C. Joseph’s Chrysler Dealership, in Belleville, Illinois (a long way from Chicago). The owner, Brad Joseph, is a train enthusiast and he his willingly allows our club to use his show room for the month of December. The Dealership has a large open house on the 18th with Santa Claus and even Mrs. Claus available. One of our LSC resident members is known to show up in his elf costume. I’ll try to get pictures.
I help every every year for the past 3 yrs setting up a Lionel display here http://www.mechanicsburgmuseum.org/ It’s very toy like but the kids enjoy it! Santa and Mr’s Claus show up for the opening every year. I wanna see that Elf Ric!

does running Christmas trains in the front yard count Ric?
Ya know I was wondering what had to be said to get you to do some promoting. Yep, for sure it counts.

you really don’t need to say anything, just find a nice sized 2X4…
it usually gets his attention…
Sorry but I just do not understand WHY Christmas lights need to be set up like a disco on your house? Am I missing something? Thankfully I know of none in this area like that. I find it amusing that the lawn lights across the street in that video would barely be visible in this area right now. For that matter the trains would barely be visible if they were even running. About a foot or 16 inches in our front yard right now.

for some reason lots of people here suffer from ADD. so the lights have to flash off and on to keep there attention.
Chaz. He wasn’t in our band he was with this group so perhaps that will explain it! Hollywood’s Dancing with the Stars

I’m a member of the Southern California Garden Railway Society. For the third year in a row, our group, has built and operated a garden railroad display in the city of Mission Viejo, CA. The display will be in operation for three weeks, beginning on Sunday, November 28 from 3 PM to 6 PM and thru December 19. The opening day featured the arrival of Santa at the Christmas Tree Lane. The layout is in a courtyard between the Library and Mission Viejo City Hall on the southwest corner of La Paz and Marguerite Streets.

As you can see in the picture, we have train operating consoles for the kids to run the trains. There’s still time , come one, come all!!
Just returned from Indianapolis and while there visiting family took the grandkids & parents to the Museum Of American Indians & Western Art because they had a Paul Busse built an operating layout there for the Christmas season. family was impressed.
Just thought I would add some Pictures from the Christmas Open house on 18 Dec…
