Sean;
Pulled up my track because of pine needles. Had to remove an inch of pine needles from my track every time I wanted to run trains, AND had to carry out the locomotives, cars, figures, vehicles, etc., AND the power pack and extension cord(s), AND something to set the power pack on. I’m hoping that once I retire, I’ll be able to rebuild something more to my liking. Most likely it will be raised 36 to 42 inches off the ground, as I don’t get up as well as I used to. (Getting down is easy; getting back up - not so much.) I’d also like to replace our little garden barn with a larger building that has power supplied to it. Then it could be the storage for the trains, AND the trains could run directly out to the layout.
Best,
David Meashey
My layout is in the same location, but I’ve made many, many changes.
The one line I have completed started life as a passing siding, for a still unfinished line.
Just the tip of the iceberg

The Bluestone Southern is actually the third layout I’ve built outside since 1996… The first two layouts were at the house we built, when we got back to Scott AFB, from NJ… And those two were totally separate layouts, both became ““Rock Gardens”” when we moved… Those 2 layouts were taken out in 2004, when we moved into an appartment while waiting on the new house to be built… The current layout for the Bluestone Southern was started in 2005…
You got to start some were!
