1st Annual Redwood Creek & Tallulah Ridge RR Spring Open House

The RC&TR held a successful 1st annual spring open house last weekend. Several upgrades and improvements our layout included the addition of second loop allowing a second train to run. The town of Little Paddocks was redesigned making it look a little more townish. A carnival scene was added which included a carousel, two circus tents, a hot air balloon, Ferris Wheel, and even fireworks.

I thought I’d share some pictures.

A couple of future projects include animating the hot air balloon and installing a small loop of track for the Clement’s mine scene.

Very nice. Thanks for posting!

Ho’omaika’i / Congratulations on your first open house! Your railroad is beautiful, and I hope you had as much fun hosting as your visitors certainly had viewing!

Nice RR. The green “rug” looks good for grass. Wife and I had our first open house last year, getting ready for one this year in July, we had 35 visitors last year and only invited and not advertised, we don’t have a lot of parking. We expect more this year, we are meeting people that heard about last years from people that came and now they want to see it too.

That is nice to hear! We had about 90 visitors over the two days and everyone really enjoyed the experience. This was the first open house where people practically stayed the entire 3 hours. I’m guessing it must have been the abundance of shade from our trees. The weather was perfect and everyone was just enjoying themselves. We have done a Christmas open house for the past 6 years minus the Covid year and it has always been well received.

Good luck on your next!!
