10,000 Posts

Sometime in the last few hours LSC passed the milestone of 10,000 posts.

Down at the bottom of the index page today I noticed…

Total number of posts: 10010

100,000 can’t be far behind!

Cool. As an interesting note about forum posts, as of noon today, here’s the last 90 days of posts.

We average about 30 posts per day.

'splane please. What are the red and blue lines? When did the spikes occur?

Yup - what he said. Well not quite. Top to Bottom is obviously the number of posts and left to right the date. Is the red line a smoothed average?

BTW your graphic goes off the page on a 1024x768 monitor :frowning:

Yea, the blue line is the daily posts. Today is the left margin, going back day by day for 90 days. The red line is a 10 day smoothed average.

Those peaks are the weekends.

We get charged extra on peak weekends, huh…

They don’t seem to be spaced by 7 days. 'course, it’s a little hard to see in the graph.

I suspect it has more to do with what was posted that got lots of responses.

Generally those peaks happen when someone posts an interesting topic, or flamebait. Either one. Here’s a couple more graphs. First one is posts by day-of-the-week:

1 is Sunday, so actually, weekends are slightly lower. The next one is posts by day-of-the-month:

There is an interesting dip on the 15th and the end of the month. I can only assume thats when most people get paid, and they’re out doing honey-dos, and off at Home Depot, than sitting at the computer.

I have to say ,you are probably right . I’m glad you learned something as well . Trouble is , you’ll probably remember it , whereas I probably won’t . I can’t even remember where I put the paper with your instructions on .
