K&S makes brass angle in this size, but not aluminum. Does anybody have a source for 1/4 x 1/4 x 1/32 aluminum angle? Web searches come up empty; before I give up, I thought I’d ask here.
Thanks in advance,
Steve

I just found my Special Shapes catalog from some years ago. They list one aluminum angle: 1/8 X .022 X 35", both legs are .022.
Might check their website. They are the distributing arm for K & S.
If you want to fabricate, they do list a 1/4 X 1/4 square aluminum tube AS - 8, but don’t mention the thickness.
Barry
Home Depot or Loews may have that thickness.
Thanks for the ideas, guys. No soap with Home Depot or Lowes. Online metals didn’t pan out either. I’ve emailed Special Shapes, but haven’t heard back.
I may have to settle for brass angle, which is available. I want to use it to reinforce 90 degree butt joints (corners) between thin aluminum sheets.
Do you think putting brass in contact with aluminum will lead to adverse electrochemical effects over time?
Thanks,
Steve
I picked up a small bending brake at Harbor freight for about $20.00.
So you could bend your own corners with this.

Steve:
Aluminum to brass is potentially a problem dependent of the exact composition of the metals, what they are attached to, and their environment. I wouldn’t build an Aluminum to brass joint in something I really care about, but I’m also certain there are lots of them out there that have survived with no sign of damage.
Barry’s suggestion to get a small, inexpensive bending brake is really good. If you do that, be aware that you need a soft aluminum. Much of the hardware store stuff is 6061-T6 which is not easily bendable. Instead, try the aluminum that is used for roof flashings. It is usually available in at least two thicknesses and is made from an alloy that is meant to be bent.
I really like having my little hand + vise bending brake. It is really simple to use and stores in a very small space when not in use. I don’t remember where I got it, but it probably didn’t cost much more than the shipping for a single item from the metal suppliers.

Well, goodness! I never thought about bending up my own. Duhhh…some “scratch builder” I am…
Excellent suggestion, guys. That’s exactly what I’m going to do. Thank you.
Steve
Barry is right about the bending brake. I have two that I purchased at Harbor Freight. One is 18" wide and the other is 36" wide. Most of the time I only use the 18" version and I think I got it for like $23.00. It really works well. If you go this route to make your Aluminum L shapes, be sure to pick up 3 or 4 deep throat 3" C-clamps You will need them to clamp the brake bar down over the metal you plan on bending.

Try your local iron monger. Or a welding and fabricating place. The might have, or be able to order you some (a ‘joint’ is 22 feet, should keep you busy for a bit)
Just got my latest MicroMart catalog, my $20.00 bending brake is now $49.95. Sorry.

Harbor Frieght shows the 18" for $37.99 on sale from $39.99 right now.
