Does anyone know the deal on these? Are they still being made?
Were they delayed?, or frozen?, or dropped???
accorading to Accucraft site, its still under development. Looks like they are being made but no dates yet.
Thanks Shawn!
I’ve been watching the site and hoping for even more info about it. I’ve seen pics that they have a painted version now, on display at shows. I had hoped they have an idea of delivery date??
Try contacting Jason Kovac. He would know…
Thanks again Shawn. I sent a contact form on his site.
Shawn,
He got back to me fast! Trouble is it may take a while to get an electric version.
It appears these got released

Sweet! And only $6500 too. Anyone want to buy a kidney?
I wonder if they’ll buy one of mine too? Hmmm… Maybe both???
Been out here in UK for around three months now - see

Looks nice, too, and relatively affordable - at least, by comparison with the now unobtainable Aster version. The bad news is not affording the loco, although you get it considerably cheaper than we do, of course, but making up the hundred-car consist to put behind it.
Oh, and having a track that can take it all without looking ridiculous, like mine would.

It’s not that it’s overpriced at all for what it is. It would be a statement piece if I could obtain it.
Right now, I can’t get one. That is totally my fault for not being ready. I started believing that it would not get built.
I hope others will get to enjoy this model. It appears to be a wonderful model that I would be proud to own.
Overpriced it isn’t when you put it up against the $20,000 Aster ‘unicorn’. I’d have one like a flash if I had the $$$$$$$, but it would have to be a steamer - after all, the real thing was driven by steam. It would be even better if it were to have been alcohol-fired, rather than gas, but hey-ho, beggars can’t be choosers, eh?
Sadly, though, I know of nobody over here who could make up anything like a reasonable consist of coal hopper cars for this beast - even thirty or forty would look like an afternoon excursion for this mighty loco. With Gauge 1 hoppers at $150 a pop, even that is a $6000 consist…
