1/28th scale cars made by MegaToys

Looking around today at Wally World and found 2 late model cars in 1/28th scale. A Hummer and an Escalade both R/C for 12.00. Contacted the company at .com site waiting for answer to any others.

Heh heres a thought Lets all get together and rally Wally Weird to get into the Model RR business full bore, and put all the rest of the Model RR retailers out of business!!! Then we would have the best of all the worlds, One place to shop for Model RR things and in one convenient place in every town in the world, all at one price!!!CHEAP!! Interesting proposition right guy’s.

Jerry,
Sorry to disappoint you,but first YOU SHOULD READ THE POST. I’m a strong advocate of the LHS in that my family owned one for 50+ years. I know first hand what they go through but appreciate the individual service one can get there. So I shop there first.
If you read you would see that I found the manufacturer’s web site and contacted them for more info on their product line as we seem to have a shortage of scale vehicles and I’m hoping they offer more than 2 choices. This information can be passed onto my local shop and possibly we can all benifit from a larger selection.
If you happen to be in the business maybe you’ll see your way clear to further investigate this source and better serve your costomers. And with knowing the price you have a heads up on a reasonable line of product to stock

I did read your post and your second one is way more informative, but my post was not directed at you personally it was directed at or as a general post for all Model rr and just to inform you I have owned my own business although not a hobby shop, but when i did try to support locally they offered no help other than to say i can order it for you, which i can do for myself. I am a big supporter of the smaller business, and object greatly to big business such as Wally Weird!!! Sorry you misunderstood the post and took it personally!!! Yowsa

Jerry,

let me stand corrected I’m a little short on some subjects. We all have dealt with those shops that are not the best but I remember when the discount places first came into being Two Guys was the one for us we bought by the item they bought by the truck. Then what was 50 small parts became 3,000 small parts and the only way to stay in business was to specialize.Mom went into R/C and boat parts Dad stayed with trains Small stores can’t keep everything in stock they don’t have the funds so some patience helps.

We spend a lot of money each year buying PCs at work.

We buy PCs locally - period. While I’ll look at local suppliers of the big brands, my preference is for a small business that assembles PCs from components.

We end up with boxes that have identical specs, which is vital to us. We also end up with boxes containing the set of images we require (images being clones, on DVDs, of the programs we run on various PCs). If there are problems, we hear about them, and work with the local guy to resolve them.

We also want 4-year warranties and a guarantee that, at the end of their life cycle, the PCs will be carted away and either re-cycled or disposed of in an environmentally-friendly manner.

Doing it this way is generally more time-consuming, and more expensive up-front, than dealing with the big guys. However, I contend that the result is invariably better. It’s in the local guy’s interest to keep us happy. Over the life of the PC, I’d argue overall costs are lower.

The only issues we’ve ever had doing it this way are sickness and divorce, which can affect a small business in ways a larger outfit is impervious to.

I’m not religious about the merits of small business. I care about results. We get a better result dealing with a local business for bulk orders of PCs than we do any other way.
