That’s cool, but there are others. ECX, Losi, Traxxas, NitroRCX, NewBright, WLToys, aliexpress, are some of the brand names, as well as radio control construction equipment, tanks and trucks. I’d like to get an Rc crane for the junk yard on my railroad.
I have picked up a of these (not the OP’s manufacturer) over the years with the intent of using them on the streets of my indoor layout.
They tend to have severe limitations. Any bump is enough to halt the car. Turning radius is poor, something like 5-6 feet to make a circle.
They can be used to make an R/C railcar or railbus.
I like the idea of a railcar.
Tim, the cars and trucks from ECX, Traxxas, and Losi, are considered " hobby-grade" rc’s and have very good turning radiuses. You can also upgrade them with aftermarket parts such as servos and motors.
I have a 1/32nd-ish SUV with radio control, but I can’t figure out how to make something railroad-ish with it.

You don’t recall the “Stompers” ? Small battery powered cars/SUVs/off-road vehicles, which just happened to be the right size for adding gauge-1 (45mm) wheels. We made some interesting railcars and critters with them.
Oh I dimly recall those. They came out when I was a law student and had little time for such…
I have used RC cars to build a caboose racer for fun and a MAC inspection truck for the build challenge a few years back.
They are not powerful but good enough to get a little critter moving for short money.
I bought a few stomper like things, but they are in a drawer somewhere. The actual Stompers came and went before I joined this particular gauge.
