1:20 scale seated figures

I am looking for some seated 1:20 scale figures. Any thoughts on a source? I like Bachmann’s style figures, but they only have the few railway men, no ladies ??, and they don’t plan to produce any more of that type I was told.

I really like Richard’s Scale Humans. You might also look at Supply Line Miniatures, though some of them are a bit small for 1:20.

I’m working on some sitting peoples but they are dressed in modern looking outfits. I could easily scale them up to 1/20.

Do you have any illustrations or pictures of what you are looking for in particular?

You might also look at Fun & Games’ line of figures. He’s got some seated figures. I wish the web site gave actual measurements of the figures. The “Fun & Games” line of figures on that page I know are mostly 1:20.3. He’s got a bunch of figures that aren’t on the web site, too, so I’d suggest e-mailing him for more info.

I’ve resized several of my 1/29 scale figures to 1/20 and uploaded them to Shapeways.

As usual, Shapeways is a bit pricey, but most of the figures will print in the cheapest plastic.

I have not printed any of the 1/20 scale ones myself yet. I have printed quite a few of the 1/29 ones and most come out really well but as the saying goes, your mileage may vary.

If anyone is interested in taking a look, I’ve created a shapeways store front-

They look good, but I’d have to see a photo of a printed figure to be really interested.

I have not yet printed any of the 1/20 scale figures. However, what I have found on the smaller 1/29 ones are that the cheapest prints are ok but lack fine detail. If you go up one notch to the ‘frosted detail’ the face and features are very detailed but you pay a high price for that. Like $50 bucks per figure in the 1/20 size. Ouch! I guess the idea would be print the high dollar as a master and cast resin but that has it’s own set of problems as I am finding out…

Anyhow, here is a ‘frosted detail’ print of a 1/29 scale figure.

So, if I take a 1:29 figure and make him/her/it about 91%, I’ll have a 1:32 person? Gonna need a few people for my 1:32 Boron Station I’m printing in 3D!

I use a program called Netfabb to prepare my models for printing. It fixes imperfections (well some) and allows you to size your model to whatever scale you need.

I use Netfab all the time to “fix” my Tinkercad designs. Also to cut too big models into ones printable on the 3D printers I have access to. The software that comes with Makerbots allows for easy size changes too. Am I correct that 1:32 is about 91% of 1:29?

90.625% if I done did the math right.

at least the other way round it is about that relation.

if i got a 1:32 figure, i print it at 110% for 1:29.

Guys

Here is the link to my guide for 1/20.3 scale figures. It reviews every Fn3 manufacturer mentioned in this thread and many others. I own all of the figures reviewed. I have gotten a a serious lesson ($$$) in who is on fire with great figures and who is just blowing smoke. Hope this helps save you some time and money.
