After receiving my Caboose, Admiring it, I placed it on the track, only to find it is a smidgeon too tall at the Chimney to clear my Truss Bridge, will need to examine it closely to remedy this minor problem.
At least if my tunnel isn’t tall enough for the new Shay I can rebuild the tunnel without reworrking rolling stock. How much too tall is the chimney? I would guess rebuilding the bridge isn’t an option?
Or can you lower the track going under the bridge? Had to do that on a previous layout.
Funny how a new caboose will point out low clearances. I had the same problem with the portal on my indoor-to-outdoor track with a new AMS caboose. Fortunately the portal was decorative and the actual opening was much larger so I was able to fix it quickly.
I agree with those who are suggesting the track be fixed rather than the caboose stack. Eventually you’ll acquire another piece that will be too tall.
I’ve seen real bridges that were “notched” and reinforced as equipment got taller.
Had some pictures of several examples, if I can find them.
Lowering the track is probably the best solution, as long as it doesn’t create grade or drainage problems.

The trouble is the Truss Bridge itself, the chimney just hits the top chords, when passing thru the bridge, it is only about 2 millimetres too high. I have several ideas on lowering it, but will do some more homework first.
The Arizona train season just got underway. Ours are reversed from most of you guys.
Looks like I have the same probem. Since I have three bridges and two tunnels, Probably am looking at shortening the stack.
Let me know what you come up with

I believe I have a notch in the wood opening at the KV Shops from one of those new 1:20.3 Cabeeses. That must be one tall stack.
