Large Scale Central

1:20.3 B.mann Porter with Battery Car/RC for sale.

Hi Gang,

If you ever wanted to get a Battery Powered /Radio Controlled Steam locomotive on your G scale layout this is an e-Bay auction for you. http://www.ebay.com/itm/-/321908988345?

The auction includes a G scale (1:20.3) Bachmann Spectrum 0-4-0 Porter Steam locomotive, trailing Bachmann Box Car with Battery and electronics, G Scale Graphics receiver and recommended transmitter, battery chargers for the trailing car and the AA batteries in the transmitter, hook up cables, and all documentation.

This was a well running locomotive and strong puller on my Garden Rail Road.

With age I am getting out of G scale and on to On30. I really want to find good homes for my stuff so there is a low starting price for all this equipment. All components are in very good and usable condition. The battery has been used less than one year. There is also FREE SHIPPING.

There is an engineer and fireman included in the cab.

G scale rail roads have been a lot of fun but because of age and increasing time constraints I just cannot keep up with maintenance etc. I really like indoor On30 and look forward to posting a few things here on the On30 forum.

Thanks for looking. Doc Tom

Dang Tom, I am really going to miss your ‘yarns’ that always accompanied your builds. I hope to see more as you slide into On30.

Thanks Bob. Hope to have a few more stories up the On30 sleeves in this the “smallest of the Large Scales.” Tom

Oh! Tom,

we shall certainly miss your cameos and narratives. Not knowing you circumstances I hesitate to say you should stay here, but you can stilll keep us informed I guess even if it another scale.

Going to miss you and your stories. (http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-frown.gif)

How about hanging in here thru “Miks Build Challenge 2016”. And then offering up your build as an add on prize? Think about it!

An add on to Dave’s thought; To off set Tom’s cost we could all donate a small fee to play. Doc Tom compensated and the winner gets a nice prize.

I don’t do details… well not these…(http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-wink.gif)

Thanks for all the nice comments guys. You all must like cornball stories from the Tennessee Hills and Hollers. Glad to participate in the 2016 challenge. Might even try to enter something in On30 if that is allowed ??? It is a recognized forum here after all.

I have increased my responsibility at a Rural Health Center in Kentucky ( I live on the Tenn.Ky border) and at times I am the only doc for an entire county in a rural poor state with a lot of health problems. So, its dark when I get off the day job and on to my train obsession. So an indoor layout with electric lighting is the way to go for me…at least now.

I have got some ideas stirring around for a 1900 East Tennessee primitive logger and a little dabbling in ETWNC “tweetsie” trains all done up in On30 under the electric light bulb. So I will be still with you guys…this is a great website.
