Wicked awesum…
I know guys that have locomotive cabs in their basement, But not the coaches…
That’s Jason, the owner of “Rapido Trains”…
I subscribe to the Rapido newsletter, so I already heard about this. It gives me hope for my future plans to build a D&RGW coach
His website’s at http://kingstonsub.com/ … I suggest reading it, as it’s actually really well-written and has a lot of information on how he built it.
Neat. But I agree with Jason - he’s insane
Your right Mark V. he wins big time…
OK, the coach looks nice, but what does his layout look like?
His next door neighbor has a F unit in his basement for head end power.
My plan was to build a shed that was built from the plans from a DRGW long caboose as buying the caboose was not going to happen, never mind the move cost. That plan never came together but I will build something on a smaller scale.
Very cool. I’ve always wanted an Amtrak Superliner. Probably never happen, but you never know. I have a start on it. Just got one of the lighted car number signs:
Looks like Jason is another one of those who got into the business to support his hobby.
Hi guys:
Years ago Canadian Pacific or Canadian National were disposing of their wood cabooses for essentially the cost of freight.
I wanted to install one in the side yard of my Father’s house. He almost accepted the idea but the final answer was no.
Just as well as the City of Ottawa today would most likely add an excessive property tax adjustment.
Mc Donald’s near the Canadian Museum of Science & Technology did buy one however. They also installed a LGB restaurant interior ceiling layout. All of the train related items are now gone from that Mc Donald’s as they later changed to a new interior decoration theme.
Norman
That’s really cool, and I like his cheerful attitude.
That’s what you call GOING FOR IT
Jason’s partial coach was featured on German TV, will be interesting to see how it spreads across Europe. Usually it’s the Yanks and the Brits who come up with wing-ding ideas. No telling what the reaction to wing-ding Canuck will be. OTOH it could sell a few more Rapido items in Europe.
