Type-E couplers & draft gear

Since I have gotten a little more confident in my wax pattern making, I have decided to revisit my coupler design. A while back, I decided to see if I could model a working draft gear. Here is my first attempt:


I am also in the process of designing a trip pin mechanism that can be triggered by an operating rod (cut bar).

These will get pinned together with .032" rivets.

Okay this is way too cool for words. In assuming that the draft gear box is to scale as well? This might be the final straw for me to start working in brass on another snow Dozer…

I got distracted last week with some unexpected dental work, but have gotten back to wax casting. Here’s the latest batch about to be sent off to the foundry:
