Adding pictures on a post

ok, I looked at the links to what I attached, and they are messed up, but if I delete the first part, then the link is there and I see the picture.

here’s the bogus link:

https://www.largescalecentral.com/application/modules/Ynforum/externals/scripts/download.php?f=https://www.largescalecentral.com/public/ynforum_attach/55/4c/02/2480b_15b5.jpg?c=f954&fc='20170602_215124.jpg'

If you delete the first part, and just take the last part, the picture is seen…

help Bob…

Greg

Greg, not file attachment, attach photo.

color me dumb, thanks Dave… so it forces a square thumbnail no matter what the aspect ratio of the original is… weird…

but I’l bet there’s a way to get by the thumbnail…

Would someone please explain how to add a picture to a posting, in plain English ? Please, no technical terms.

Some days I’m psychic, but mostly Greg thinks I’m psycho…(https://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-tongue-out.gif) ya roll yer dice and get me; a weird old man, why he still plays with trains! That lovable old coot.(https://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-innocent.gif)

First you must tell us what kind of device and OS you are using, they all say the same thing differently … I’m qualified to try for; PC, Windows and Firefox browser.

The only sticky I found was the old way…

Dan, at the risk of getting into the range war going on here, what I do is open the picture in my freight shed, right click on it , then click copy, then open the forum page you wish to add the picture to, open the reply box, then, in the top row of icons there is a box with a little mountain on it,#6 from the right to the left of the eye if you stop on it it says insert/edit image, click on that, in the box that opens up , right click on the source panel and click paste, then click on the dimensions box and type in 800 in the first one, it will automaticly add the proper number in the second dimension box, then click OK. after the picture has been added to the post, move your cursor to outside the picture in the bottom right corner outside the picture, and click it, the picture is now entered, and you may add some captioning or do the process over to add a second picture, thats how I do it and since I am not that computer savy, I hope I explained it easy enough. good luck

picture added as I did the steps to help me explain it all. I am using windows on a good old laptop computer.

Fred, that’s the best explanation I have had yet. In the distant past I must have uploaded photos to my freight shed. However, I cannot remember how to do it. Once I can get some pics on my freight shed, I will be able to follow your instructions on how to get them onto a posting.

Fred who?

I don’t post photos much anymore because they are all on my phone now, getting photos from my phone to my album is onerous at best. Too many steps, sad but this site isn’t very phone friendly. Most forums are that way.

Vic - Do you still use a PC at all? If so, services like Google Photos allow you to store your photos in the cloud, then grab a link -OR- download them to your PC. I have posted a few pictures here that were taken on my phone with these methods.
