2015 official summer running thread

Guess now that it is officially summer we can start posting those summer pictures.

Nice pictures Shawn! I like that steam tram of yours.

Here’s an early summer special excursion over Rockwall Canyon yesterday.

Just a shot with my iPhone. Liked the contrast and the dragon yelling at the MTH Big Boy and it’s superior smoke to a dragon’s. (http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-wink.gif)

Northeast Pennsylvania has seen rain-rain-rain and now hot-hot-hot temps with high humidity! Have had only a few operation days here… (http://largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-frown.gif)

The BL-2 and the wagon tops lost their virginity on the CVRR today!

Yes a good time was had at Rooster’s yesterday. I was able to get the inaugural run of the BL2 and my wagon top cars all on one day. There were a couple minor glitches but everything ran smooth.

Today I decided to take off the carpenters hat and put on my engineers hat. I had to re-enter all the data on the JMRI program since my old hard drive failed, but I would have had to do that anyway since some things got changed around. It also gave me a chance to work out any bugs I may have entered.

I had already built and terminated a few trains via the program just to mix things up a bit. Then I printed up the a manifest for an east bound and a west bound: DEMA01, Delores to mancos and MADE02, Mancos to Delores.

Here No 20 does some work in Delores.

Pick up one and drop off two at the Interchange.

Then it’s on the Mancos.

3 cars at the LCL and one at the stock yard.

Then head back light to Delores.

I scribbled down some changes I thought I should make with the JMRI program.

Then it was on to Train 2; MADE02.

This one had me scratching my head for awhile wondering how to get the reefer and hopper onto the train with a very short switching lead at the other end of town.

Moving the 3 cars at the Depot LCL into the stock yard spur didn’t give me much room to switch out the warehouse, so it was one at a time moving those 2 out to the main.

I just love those “Ahah” moments…(http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-wink.gif)

It was a bit warm out in the sun, but there was a nice breeze in the shade. Found a few tweaks I have to make, but nothing drastic.

Very impressive layout Ken.(http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-cool.gif)

Need to run a few more revenue trains to pay for all that new infrastructure! Looking good.

Nice run Ken (http://largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-cool.gif)
