Jey, H-J - great translation of Irish there - where did you find it?

For elucidation - ‘I was raised/brought up [in a family situation]…’

Useful, eh?

French, of course, can often be useful going over the other side of the water when in Ottawa…or on the odd visit to the east - we have friends in Rimouski.

tac etc.

Google is your friend. Knows (almost) everything and is willing to help should one require help. But there is a drawback, the more often one uses it the dumber one appears to Google - obviously “one” knows diddly squat about anything and/or one is very nosy.

OTOH there is no listing for my military service nor for my perfectly valid medical reasons to escape “the circus”.

Ah, so you miss out on the annual ‘obligataire’, eh?

Many of my Swiss shooting friends in Canada still do them - AND get free ammunition via the embassy, too!

The closest sanctioned ranges for that are 300 miles going East or West. Perfectly safe distances.

HJ… Thanks so much for posting these videos… I watched them all and am so very impressed with the craftsmanship of these models… Masterpieces might be a better description…

They are amazing.

It’s so nice to see the youngsters right in the middle for the action. The R/C battery power has been so very well “hidden” by the “loads”, tanks, boilers, etc.

They are very exciting to watch.

My pleasure, Stan.

When I saw the first write-up in print, with all of the why and how of the background, I was really blown away. I see it as a typical example of “there is a better way” to get youth and troubled youth involved.
