Actually, you only use “ONE” foot at a time to kick the ball, whether it’s American Football or soccer, hence the term "FOOTBALL.
If one kicked with both feet, one would fall down.
So, maybe it’s you who should wise up sir?
Mike, me son…you still need TWO feet…one to Kick with and the othere to retain some sort of contact with the ground…or have you found some other way…It will ALWAYS be “FEETBALL”…
Keep smiling

Yup, sure have. The Eagles had a one footed player back in the 60’s named Dempsey…used his footless leg to kick field goals and extra points…
Pittsburgh had a running back with only half a foot back in the 70’s…Rocky Blier…

Wasn’t Dempsey the guy who kicked the NFL’s longest field goal? With his footless leg no doubt?

Respectfully Fred, I had the honor of having one man call me son, and I lost him in 1986. I’ll ask that you not call me that.
In regards to the term, since one foot comes in contact with the ball, the term stuck. Granted most players need the two feet to play. Under your definition, then would not all sports be called feetball, since all sports most times require two feet as well?

All this because Martyn kicked the fridge .
Well… You know the toothbrush was invented in Arkansas. Otherwise, it would be called a “teethbrush.”

Actually the toothbrush is thought to have been invented in China…lol:p
Hi , fellow followers fanatics and fairly friendly feeders of failways .Couldn’t think of an f-word to represent railways
really .
You may be interested to know that Martyn is now recovering from experimenting with mind altering drugs .
His toe and foot still hurt , and he is happy to feel the pain. Not because he’s a masochist ( I can’t even spell that )
but because he was definitely not conscious of being part of this world at all for a couple of days . It frightened me and in retrospect did the same to him .
Luckily some inner discipline stopped him trying to drive , which made life a bit difficult for both of us , but we are still here to tell the tale .
So he is getting better , and appreciates all the comments sent our way in various forms .
Thanks .
Mike
Glad to hear all is improving
Ric ,
Martyn asked me to tell you that the remark "should have had something on your feet " reminded him of someone .
I wonder who ?
Thanks ,
Mike
