I certainly hope you’re feeling better.
Has anybody taken a look at your inner ears? That is the balance center.
Cardiac workup?
Did you have chemo to fight the cancer? Sometimes that can cause nerve damage.
Did you get the tooth re-implanted?
You seem to be on the mend, this is a good thing.

Need to add to the events already covered and carry on to today. Early last year, March/April I was diagnosed with Prostate Cancer. The biopsy indicated 2 of the samples were benign and the remaining ten were raging cancerous!! Began radiation treatments. PSA was 10.84, very high, should be under 4.0. 39 treatments, one each week day, Mon. - Fri. Also started taking a funny and inexpensive little pill which kills off my testosterone. The cancer in the prostate is their because it survives on the testosterone. Deprive the cancer of the testosterone and it dies. Also radiate it and it dies. At the end of the radiation treatments, my PSA was .10. Didn’t believe it at first, but was advised by my Drs. that it was a good number. The oncologists want to test after six months and live with whatever number that is, The .10 number is just too early.
Along with all of this, I have a dizziness problem, which is about 10 or twelve years old now. The first time I mentioned it to my Dr. I ended up with the first pacemaker, am now on my second pacemaker and still dizzy. Last Christmas day coming back from celebrating the holiday with my brother and his family in Chicago, was heading to baggage claim, hopped on the down escalator, froze, stepped off, missed the moving step and crashed. Scraped my entire left side from my calf to my thigh, torso, shoulder and forehead. All scrapes no cuts, but bloody. Someone yelled to stop the escalator, I landed in the back of the person ahead of me. He helped me up and down the now still escalator. Someone called 911 and the firemen (6), showed up and started to bandage me. When they finished they offered to take me to the Hospital, but I had other ideas. I wanted to try an Urgent care outfit, but none were open so I went to my Hospital, had the bandages redone (fireman bandages are big and thick, fine but maybe overkill). The xrayed my knees and ankles, And then went home.
A bit later, at home watching TV, I decided to go to the kitchen, stood up, turned right, took one step, got a quick blackout and started falling, awoke just before I hit the floor, lander on my mouth (particularly, an implanted tooth, knocking it loose). Stood up went back to the chair, sat down, started assessing the damage, primarily the tooth ($1500.00 implant).
Could move it with my tongue, not good, soon fell out in my hand, implant and post.
The dizziness continues, but now I notice the little quick blackouts. One had occurred on the escalator, but hadn’t remembered until this last fall.
Never dizzy in the car, but just walking around is an adventure.
More importantly, I am trying to find out if it will be possible to have a sex life in the future.
Currently, I am a Eunuch (had to look that one up).
I doubt you will have any questions, but they are welcome.
Currently, working 4 to 8 hours each day including the weekends, trying to clear the decks for interesting projects ahead.

Barry,
Hang in there. I was diagnosed with prostate cancer at 42. I went through the same treatments as you. Wiping out the testosterone throws ones body for a loop. It does get better with time but will never be like before.

Hi troops,
Went thru the same stuff, Jan-Mar 2007 and then 30 months on Zoladex monthly implants, knocked the crap out of me. Just had my last 6 month PSA/urologist visit, good to go and now annual visits. Last PSA was .2. I had to retire in the middle of this, didn’t have the energy to perform aircraft mechanic duties, I was 64 at the time, soon to be 71.
A comical side note regarding the radiation clinic. I joked and chatted with the three great ladies at the radiation clinic. A British gal was there one day and she was there for training and evidently very high strung and the regular gals had some issues with her. They sent her into the radiation room with me and while glancing at the regular gals in the control booth, I realized that they were expecting me to say something to the British gal and I did. As I was dropping my pants to get onto the radiation machine, I looked at this gal directly and said " our parents would not approve of our meeting like this" in the best British accent that I could come out with!! As I was laying down, I glanced at the gals in the control booth and they were laughing out loud which I could hear as there is two way communications. They cut their laughter short when the British gal turned and gave them a nasty look!!!
As I got to know this British gal some, I found out that she was actually a Scotsman, so we had a few brief chats as most of my heritage is Scotsman from the Highlands of the Mother Country!!!
Good to hear from you Barry. There are a LOT of people who need your services, whether they know it or not! My BBT drive has been running for several years now, and it pulls like a team of engines.
Thanks again!
Good to hear that you’re still with us, Barry, I’ve got one of your 4-6-0 units. The only problem I’ve had with it is the set screw in the main gear loosening up enough to let the gear turn on the axle. A little locktite will take care of the problem the next time. The thing runs like a champ and pulls like a team of mules. Great work!

Interesting… Three years ago, I had my prostrate removed, then had a bunch of radiation treatments to make sure all the nasties were dead. Seems to have worked, but I also have experienced some blurred vision, and occasional dizziness, fortunatly I have not passed out or fallen. PSA has been down in the .001 range , or as they call it, not there. Hope that stays that way… Not capable of acrobatics as I was when younger. We want to try Cialis, but have to wait till we find out why my heart is racing at 133 -140. But all in all I’m still around, and thankfull for it.
Barry stay at it, you will prevail. Has your Cardio guy come up with any reasons for your fainting??
My team is currently blaming my smoking, and resultant low blood oxygen level as the problem.
