You can force perspective and use 1/24 up close and the 1/32 a few feet down the road and they will actually look good together
While that works well when taking pictures, it has its problems when you look at the layout and there is minimal depth to the scene (says he who built a few “minimal depth” dioramas).
After looking at Michaels set up, yup this won’t work, Some of us are lucky with big yards (18 acres) and huge gardens (1 acre)
On a related note, when you are at a store, check out the die cast cars in the toy section. A few years back I picked up a 1:27th scale Humvee at Walgreen’s. While not 1:29, its pretty close.

Many of the on-line dealers state the exact scale of a given item. so if you know which vehicle you’re looking for and which mfgs item is the closest to 1:29 … you’re smiling.
OTOH most of the stuff in the TOY departments isn’t marked for scale i.e. it is a TOY.
Michael, you can purchase a lot from 3000toys for not a lot of dollars. Look for the sales and clearance items. These are good buys. I purchase 9 last fall for about a hundred dollars of all styles.
Ron

Yes, that may be true, but many of my purchases of die cast “toys” do have a scale imprinted in the plastic underframe. Maybe they aren’t true to scale, but they look good to my eye. And I seldom pay more then $10 for a scale automobile. The firetruck was an exception, since I needed it for a project. Unfortunately, every model firetruck I see, is painted the wrong colour.
