Oh! Thanks! That class was so much fun.
Uh oh. All the links to the chapters at 4largescale are “Not authorized to view this page.”
I liked to the PDF’s on my poor excuse for a web site.

I am hunting an engineer figure that resembles Casey Jones for my 10 wheeler thats being built right now. Need toward the smaller end of the spectrum as the engine is a bit larger than 1:32nd, Probably somewhere between 1:24th and 1:22.5. Will know more when the engine is done. Obviously I need Casey and Sim Webb in the cab! Mike
I rarely see mention of PREISER figures on here . They are many and varied and though costing a little more , you should avoid putting a ten cent figure in a $500 loco . They make LGB size , 1/24 and 1/32 .
I have no hesitation in recommending them and they come painted or in sets unpainted .

1:24 or 1:22.5 is plenty larger than 1:32
Did you check these two characters?
or these three
both sets from Woodland Scenics’ “Figures & Accents” line in G-Scale. Best wait to get the engine to see how much room is in the cab. As far as Preiser goes, nothing even remotely suitable in 1:22.5; 1:24 or 1:25. Preiser concentrates mainly on the European figures in different eras, other than the 1:25 Wild West figures there is very, very little NA stuff.
PS Since I model a Swiss narrow gauge line in 1:22.5 I have a very good selection of both Preiser and POLA (identical to Preiser with a less well refined paint job). As can be seen in this thread http://www.largescalecentral.com/forums/topic/21756/first-of-many-more-to-come and quite a few of my other layout pictures.
BTW I also have the 1:22.5; 1:24 and 1:25 PREISER PDFs on the HDD, very handy to determine what is actually being produced and available.
Hans , you are giving misleading info .
The Preiser range has many figures which allow for easy conversion between nationalities and callings .
Given the price of them against the price of the more dedicated stuff means that the population of your little town can grow .
A lot of my modelling centres on figures , from 1/35 scale up to 1/19 (and even the occasional 7/8th) .
Putting people off a perfectly good product is not helpful , Preiser stuff is very good . I use them quite a lot . Conversion to what you want can be as simple as chopping heads off and swapping them around , to cutting them in various places like round the waist and swapping tops ; adding foil to represent different clothing styles is a piece of doddle .
That way , you make a model , not a caricature .
Try it . Or would that damage your preconceived notions ?

For those who like to paint their own figures, as well as chop and maim, here is a site that offers Preiser knock-offs in both painted and unpainted versions in a number of different assortments.
http://www.modelleisenbahn-figuren.com/
one note on that website says:
a own website is a new world for us, so get over our little mistakes or unprofessionel looking things, we are Germans living in the USA and no profis in other languages
you can contact us under: [email protected]
Yes, that put a huge grin on my face.
PS I passed on those figures, painted (dreadful) or unpainted.
Thanks Bob,
Some very nice items with excellent paint jobs! Looks like SWMBO will have an additional errant on her upcoming Swiss trip. Wettingen is practically next door.
I had to go and look, here’s an update (thanks to Mike Reilley) the links from the top of this page are still current. However since there are %20 (spaces) in the URL the one click method won’t work i.e. copy/paste instead.

Happy sculpting and painting!
SLM has some nice figures. I’ve been happy with the ones I got from them.

One supplier that skipped my memory back in Oct

If required/desired one could refine the paint jobs a bit.
