Bob I run IE8 and everything has worked fine for me. Sorry to say but it must be something John has done to his computer or settings in it. O and John you are a nice guy.
A bit of research indicates that error is often a result of the browser’s Java VM being ‘broken’. Try disabling Java in the settings and try again.
OK.
Dumped Java and it worked.
However, a window pops up saying I need to install Java to properly view the site.
I just ignored that and looked thru the site.
There is some things I might need there.

Yeah, IE8 
I’m gonna put FireFox back on this new 'puter.
After further investigation it appears Java 32 Bit was installed on my machine.
I re-installed 64 bit and it works fine now.
