Large Scale Central

Triple O -- Bachmann 10-Wheeler Salvage Campaign

Can you believe what this thread has led to at dinner over the weekend?

This was an all-hands discussion, too, that involved CINCHOUSE’s wish-list, to include what must stay, what should go, what she wants, and the possibility of budget for professional assistance for “her” pond.

Uh-oh…

As I recall you have Jim Neighbours boat, so it makes sense that you’ll need to expand your port, but at the same time CINChouse will need to be able to access her larger pond.

I think this where a trip to Newcastle NSW will be of benefit to CINCHOUSE’S wants and needs while keeping your budget to scale.

Don’t forget Kid-zillas submarine, of course he’ll need remote control for it. :innocent: :sunglasses:

I’m so pleased that I’m not the only one that this sort of thing happens to.

Well Eric , this made it to my house today, even though it was addressed to Lockwood instead of Lockland! Anyway this will go on the wall with other artwork drone (NOT Eric!), but W , I am assuming it’s Kidzilla,thank you, thank you Kidzilla and the whole clan

Glad that it arrived despite my poor spelling!

Well, @Eric_Mueller I can see it is a ten-wheeler, but how did it become an LNER 4-6-0?
The London & North Eastern Railway is my home railroad. I still have an OO/HO scale LNER B1 4-6-0 with a set of teak coaches, stored somewhere on a shelf.

My own first Hornby locomotive was an L.N.E.R. 4-6-0. Got it 52 years ago. It still runs well and the chuff effect still works.LNER460
Sorry for the crude background. Just realized that I had no photos of it.

Now there is an idea for a 2024 James Bond resurrection film. They did it with Star Wars ?

Sorry Rooster;

OO/HO just means OO scale (4mm=1ft) running on HO track (3.5mm=1ft). The purists use ProtoFour track, which is 18.83mm gauge (I think). Peter T. can probably clarify that. Anyway, when HO first came about, the motors of that day were too big for British models in HO scale. Manufacturers for model trains “fudged” by adding .5mm to the scale of British models so they could still run on HO track.

I can’t really comment as I have no track down.
Was it supposed to be ballasted in the background? :smiley:

Bill;

No, I was just referring to having to pose the locomotive and coach right by my computer. I don’t have any scenicked diorama that is easy to get to for such photos.

P.S. My wallpaper screen shows Gandalf running on the Aikenback short track at York many years ago.

I have no idea what you’re talking about, but if there’s beer involved, I’m in.

I asked Kid-zilla. He said, “It’s London and something…I saw it on Thomas.” I am not sure if it is in his copy of the original Railroad Series or one of the cartoons.

Eric

And that was the only clue I needed. The cartoons have all sorts of ‘visitors’.

But if we’re talking about LNER locos, here’s the one I hope to buy tomorrow.

The biggest and baddest mainline passenger loco ever made in the UK. It is a P2, and the guys who made the A1 “Tornado” are building a complete new P2, “Prince of Wales”.

Eric;

LNER stands for London North Eastern Railway, but some sarcastic people claimed it stood for “Late and Never Early.” Similarly, fans of the Great Western Railway said it stood for “God’s Wonderful Railway.” BUT detractors referred to it as the “Great Way Round.” I’ve heard people in this country refer to Amtrak as “Amtrash.”
