Large Scale Central

Trestle Construction on the Redwood Creek & Tallulah Ridge R

Ken, that big boulder was there before we started the railroad…I’ve managed to move a few smaller ones with a little hard work. This one I decided could stay

Got the trestle installed over the weekend…just in time to get back to work. But not without an inaugural run by James the Red Engine…click on the link to see a short little video of the trip over the trestle. I’m really pleased with the outcome so far. I have a little work yet to do on the bridge portion just after the tunnel…a bit more bracing…more for looks than anything and things should be complete.

Hey Ken…thanks for posting the actual screen shot from Youtube…tell me how you did that.

Thanks,
Richard

Under the youtube video, there’s a “Share” button. If you click on that it gives you a shorter link to the video. Just copy and paste that between the [ youtube ] xxx [ youtube ] tags. Just leave out the spaces…

Ken…sorry about my ignorance with this whole video embed thing. I’ve clicked on the “share” button as you instructed and link is the same as the one I pasted above in my post. Perhaps the issue is understanding the copy and paste between the [youtube} xxx [youtube] tags…can you expand on this when you get the chance.

Most appreciative,
Richard

Don’t feel bad, Richard, took me awhile to catch on the embed thing, too.

All I did was what you see above, but left out all the spaces between the brackets and the link.

I thought you could just use the filmstrip icon?

Hmm…well, it worked in preview!

Maybe you can, Bruce, but I’ve never tried it that way…this way works for me.

Its never worked for me. Must be the way I hold my jaw when I hit the “Do It” button.

Ok…got it to work this time!! Thanks
Richard

But wowsers! Go back to work and all things train ceases… Guess I have the weekend.

Nice work Richard!

Finally got the Bachmann Connie up and running with the new radio gear installed. Did some track testing this evening and am pleased with the overall results. Needed to add some weight to the smoke box which seemed to help keep the front trucks from jumping the track.

Now need to tune and tweak a few areas of track but nothing too major. Softened a curve that was causing my AMS coaches to become uncoupled…a bit tight I’d say. Now if I can only move the boulder about two inches…
