TrainOps 2025

Ack! I just noticed that the emails I thought I sent this morning did NOT get sent at all…I wonder what happened?

I have now changed our arrival date to Friday (from Thursday). Unfortunately, we will NOT make it to Al’s this year :sob: and will leave from Stan’s to head back to New York (Jean’s brother is in Rock Taver,n NY). A shorter trip, but at least we get to see folks!

So sad to hear about the need for treatment Bruce, but I’m glad you and Jean can see your northern pals, and hope to see you up there next year or thereafter.

I guess I haven’t actually chimed in yet. I do plan to be at Al’s place on Friday. But, that will be all for me this year. Saturday we have another obligation and Sunday I have work.

I just visited Al for the first time today and I got a tour of the railroad. It’s amazing! I cannot wait to see what ops is like.

In years past the site had a calendar of events that described the event and allowed people to sign up for it. Am I missing something…It would appear that the TrainOps event is shrinking with perhaps only 2 LSC people attending other then the layouts owners and guests,

That’s a far cry from attendance in years past. So my question to all.

Is putting on a LSC event something that is beneficial to the LSC folks? If so, what do we need to do to make it worthwhile for more to attend?

Thanks

Stan

Ah, good point. I hadn’t added the actual event to the thread. Done!

Maybe it’s time to restart the old highly successful “Invasion of Friends” Too bad a few of the wonderful Friends have passed on.
New Friends would be welcome.
This weekend; Friday August 29th through 31st saw a couple from Pen State drop in; crossing the border “Pleasantly”, and returning home just as pleasantly to the US of A.
We OPERATE here EVERY Saturday morning (Weather permitting), not just once or twice a year… The WELCOME mat is always out for our old FRIENDS, and new ones too.

Your not talking about Mrs. Browns brownies are you.

More preparation work. Most of you know I’ve switched over to Car Cards and Waybills (see this thread Setting up waybills)

Part of that I need to build some train ‘orders’, so I’ve cobbled together six quick ones that should account for everything. I’ve also done a quick diagram of the towns on the RR on the back of the train orders.

And pictures of the car cards and a sample waybill.

They look great. I never quite got the hang of using the cards at Stan’s. Hopefully I’ll figure it out.

Same here, but once Linda took over it went fine.

I just canceled the hotel and Jean called her brother to tell him we are canceling our stays with him as well. We have an aide today to help me out! Jean says that her pinched nerve has a tendency to make her not want to travel unless she has a family bathroom!

I am sorry to not go this year!

So sorry you guys can’t attend this year Bruce. I won’t be able to either, but was hoping you would. Maybe next year for both of us & our better halves.

Sorry to hear that too Bruce. We were looking forward to seeing you two.

Sadly I will not be able to attend, post some pictures please

We’ll miss you guys!

Dang!

Looks like a light crowd this year. But don’t worry, we’ll have enough fun for all of you that can’t make it!

Arvy Too is all hooked up and ready for a morning departure with a 2 night stop on the way. We will be in Littleton Thursday late afternoon.

Hey Hollywood,
Wanna go railfan the EBT this weekend. I know where we can stay for the whole weekend for free.

I’m in don’t forget the Amish goodies

Nice strategy.

Just beware of Radder’s gnome drones.
