oh - and i thought, the bragging part was about home-made models, not aquired models…
Uh, Guys;
Would coming up on the 55th wedding anniversary (June 13th) be considered a brag? I don’t do drag, 'cause I look bad enough in men’s clothing.
Regards, David Meashey
Looks like the weekend of Sept 19-20-21 is the likely candidate. Will confirm, but meantime, pencil it in for that weekend. Details to come.
Good timing on releasing the dates. My brother wants to schedule a visit in September, but I want to have the option of coming up to TrainOps. Thanks!
Bob the 21st of Sept is nascar weekend in N.H. lots of traffic may not be rooms.

NHMS is 75 miles north of me. I dont think its gonna be a problem.
Looks like we are going to make it We booked campsites today. Dang! Minuteman rates are nearly double last year. It’s getting to be where hotels are the same cost!. I plan to split the trip into two legs stopping at a host farm near Newburg, NY Tuesday and Wednesday with a side trip to see Marilyn’s brother on Wednesday. Travel to Littleton on Thursday staying at Minuteman through Sunday night. Then hit the host farm for one night on the way home.
Do yourself a favor and plan to see this! Moodna Viaduct - Wikipedia
If you read through the wiki it will tell you where to go. As you know I was there on bitter terms however it made the trip worth it.
Due to budget constraints, we decided not to stay in Matamoras, but soldier on to Walden, NY to stay on a horse farm for cheap. Saving nearly $100 over two nights.
And Walden is way closer to that than Matamoris!
Ain’t nothing in that area but a bunch of really ugly women anyway! BTW…kudos to LSC for the years of friends made with continued friendship!
I sure hope I don’t have to cancel this year, but I just started radiation treatment for my prostate cancer this morning and my last treatment is scheduled for Thursday September 18…
I was planning on leaving here on Wednesday September 17, driving to Jean’s brother that day and then head to Bob’s on Thursday…
I THINK we can leave later on Thursday (after my 915 AM appointment and probably be on the road by 10…). Assuming I feel OK to drive “ALL” I miss is Al’s shindig on Friday…
We will drive to Jean’s brothers place on Sunday (he is near Stewart - a NY airport as well as the old Air Force base) and be back here on Monday!
Sure hope you can make it. Good luck with the treatments.
Ack! I just noticed that the emails I thought I sent this morning did NOT get sent at all…I wonder what happened?
I have now changed our arrival date to Friday (from Thursday). Unfortunately, we will NOT make it to Al’s this year
and will leave from Stan’s to head back to New York (Jean’s brother is in Rock Taver,n NY). A shorter trip, but at least we get to see folks!
So sad to hear about the need for treatment Bruce, but I’m glad you and Jean can see your northern pals, and hope to see you up there next year or thereafter.
I guess I haven’t actually chimed in yet. I do plan to be at Al’s place on Friday. But, that will be all for me this year. Saturday we have another obligation and Sunday I have work.
I just visited Al for the first time today and I got a tour of the railroad. It’s amazing! I cannot wait to see what ops is like.

In years past the site had a calendar of events that described the event and allowed people to sign up for it. Am I missing something…It would appear that the TrainOps event is shrinking with perhaps only 2 LSC people attending other then the layouts owners and guests,
That’s a far cry from attendance in years past. So my question to all.
Is putting on a LSC event something that is beneficial to the LSC folks? If so, what do we need to do to make it worthwhile for more to attend?
Thanks
Stan
Ah, good point. I hadn’t added the actual event to the thread. Done!
Maybe it’s time to restart the old highly successful “Invasion of Friends” Too bad a few of the wonderful Friends have passed on.
New Friends would be welcome.
This weekend; Friday August 29th through 31st saw a couple from Pen State drop in; crossing the border “Pleasantly”, and returning home just as pleasantly to the US of A.
We OPERATE here EVERY Saturday morning (Weather permitting), not just once or twice a year… The WELCOME mat is always out for our old FRIENDS, and new ones too.
