That one picture, Greg; with the “Brush” and the brown “Penncy” car # 417…it is a B’mann Wooden Ore Car, not a gondola. I use those cars for my NG ore trains…and am always looking for them, if they are going for a VERY reasonable price. In the picture, it is missing several simulated “Hand wheels” for opening simulated dumping doors on the underside.

Greg, would pickups from Bachman cars work? They rub against the inside of the wheel for electrical pickup.
yeah, but they don’t work well in high current applications, and take maintenance fairly often. I’d get the ball bearing wheelsets or add skates.
