Love your art work! Looks like a working plan and getting some cars on the track inspires the work. Keep at it. 20 minutes a day and in a week you will have worked on it for a couple of hours.

Well the July 1st Deadine was dependant on my work schedule…supposedly I was gonna go back to getting a few days off every week…then this weekend someone quit to go work at McDonalds…SIGH…

Well I didn’t make the July 1 deadline, but I have made major progress…updated mainline completion is now August 1. So far I have managed to complete the trackage for Cedaar Mountain Yard…
And I did find the time to extend the framework and lay the basis for the real estate that will support the lumber company…
Even though I didn’t get the mainline finished, I did complete a Dead Rail install on an On30 Ten Wheeler and trains moved on the Coalfield Western!!!
And in other news, I have begun developing a downtown business block for the town of Cedar mountain, first model completed was the Cedar Mountain Coal and Lumber HQ Building…
This is a papermodel kit from CleverModels, that I modified a bit. It still needs some signage and a lil touch up, but I’m pretty pleased with the results!

Well lets see…its been a while since I updated, so what have I been up to? I finished a 2nd structure for my downtown business block,
And I also constructed the first swingout section across the entrance to the sliding glass door , Learned a lot that should be helpful in building the other one across the carport door…
During a late night rambles I cobbled up a cabin car for the line…
I had purchased an MTH water column to use in Cedar Mountain Yard, but it was clearly too large. I’ll use it on the Large Scale Layout, and make an Oscale water column of my own outta leftover styrene bits and a pinch of AVES putty…

The track crews at the Coalfield Western are still plugging along with some gpood progress being made…
this is the beginnings of Serna Creek and also where the switchback will leave the mainline. the Bridge across the creek was built from a cardstock kit avaiible from Clever Models and uses a section of 1/4 luan for strength.
No 11 pulls the first train across.
In the meantime track has also been laid across the swing bridge and onto the the Northeast Section known now as Bethany
The track off to the right is the continuing mainline that will lead out to staging and the Tug Fork Extentionthe far left is the interchange track with the lumber companY and will be worked from Cedar Mountain Yard. the runaround and spur track will be for a manufacturing company that will be worked from the mainline and operationally will be considered miles away from the lumber interchange.
We also began roughing in the upper level which will make up the mining camp of Anniebird, the switchback is begun and the first leg saw No11 and a short train. I was a little disapointed with eh 4-6-0 performance on the grade and had to keep reducing it to get No11 up it with three hoppers and a caboose. then I did the math, its a 4% grade on a curve…not bad a’tall…
I was just going to ask, what’d you expect from that little engine? 4-6-0’s liked to pull 2 passenger coaches and maybe a “goods” car. 20 mph was bookin"
I dunno…they regularly switched standard gauge cars up a 4% at the transfer trestle in Johnson City…but No10 with a 1000 mah battery does it a lot easier…
Any updates, Bart? I’m getting some good ideas, here.
