Switch Control.....rod system

The only suggestion I can come up with Fred, is a series of choke cables. Remove the knobs from those in the middle and clamp the wire together, then clamp the cables to the boards. I’m assuming you want the switch control up near Bell.

Thank you, Cliff, and Ken…Cliff…the rod I’m using quite a bit heavier than most of the Dubro stuff could manage, but it is a link that could be of use on other future projects. Ken…the choke cable idea was the first thought, but to try to “Push” those cables, much more than 10 feet, gets iffy…too much friction for the size of cable…so I’m trying this stuff used for fencing, fed into eyelets as guides, every foot or less. Actually I put the eyelets in place late this afternoon, so tomorrow morning, with help from one of the guys; I’ll feed the rod through them…really need two people to do it…one to guide the rod, and the other to gently uncoil the rod, without kinking it.

After I get the rod threaded through, I’ll try pushing and pulling to see if it will do the job.

Thank you, Steve, for posting the pictures…maybe we can get some more taken on Saturday.

BTW…I use those flat angle brackets for bell cranks…cheap and easily found in most hardware places…Just have to drill the fulcrum hole. In this case the hole to fit the rod is the same size as the screw holes already on the bracket.

Looks like the effort was worthwhile. IT WORKS…

I hope to have some pictures sometime in the next few days.

Cool Fred. Now I wanna see it.
