🚟 STRANGE LOCOMOTIVES (Post your favourite in 2024 here)

Smoke Stack weirdo stuff.

Cool model! Was there a non-Lego version made?

[edit] Apparently there was! He’s a fascinating video:

It reminds me of the “walking man” ore car, which I’ve seen in a couple versions, one being this:

I believe I saw a 1:1 model in a museum somewhere too.

I raise your man power to dog power.

Another strange failure, Central Pacific’s El Gobernador.
Have had a picture of this hanging on the shop wall for years and always thought it would be a great build project but where in the world could you run it :smiley.

Here on the CVRR as we are set up for that kinda stuff!

Haven’t found it on the map, but we’ve heard really good things about this CVRR line.
Reportedly, it’s the only railway line in America where Amtrak runs on time, too. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

I understand their clearances are really tight and they have issues with wild animals running loose and causing havoc in the town. :innocent: :sunglasses:

Didn’t exist, but it should. Wrong Island RR

Not a prototype, but my flight of fancy. The G&NB Fast Mail is for those times when it has to get there before you mailed it.

Ducted fan drive married to a 1-liter seltzer bottle riding on ball-bearing wheels. Max allowable voltage is 9.5v, but I have never had enough straight track to reach 9.5v.

Anyone know what this locomotive sounded like?

voom pa pa, voom pa pa

Joe, you crack me up! :grinning:

Its a shame development stopped on that. It seemed like a good idea.

With its airstream configuration it’s quite a spectacular weirdo.

Why have I never seen that before?
OMGram!

Can we blame the Kormish people?

I’ve been on their website… locos

But it looks very promising. ”If some searchengine sent you here already, please, take it easy and come back in a couple of days”.

I’ve already mentioned that I should have been raised Kormish!

if you would have been raised kormish, that only would have driven you to emigrate to some far off land, like paraguay or australia.

I found this one on Facebook. Lake Erie & Northern Railway (LE&N) line truck M-6.

Is there such a thing as reverse-prototyping?
