Is Doug building a Speeder or a motor car?

That Stude Rail bus appears to be built on a 1928-30 President or Commander chasis. I can’t tell for sure, as I can’t count the number of louvers on the side of the hood.

Studebaker provided the chassis to several custom “Bus” or coach builders and they added the coach bodies. The most famous of these were the ones that ran at Yellowstone NP. These pre-date the “Red Jammers” made famous at Glacier NP. Several have been restored and still operational. That coach work looks very similar to the Yellowstone busses.

I have a 29 Commander.

My first project will be a Speeder but a rail bus is coming soon!

Last year I built a “barn” for the speeder. Maybe I’ll create doors that open!

This summer the motor block burned out in my Delton Doozie, so a remotor/bash is now on the schedule for the car shop.

That will be a doozie of a build!

Doug, years ago I bought an Aristo motor block to upgrade the Delton Doozie. The darn thing is metal and heavy. But its also a good 1/4 to 1/2 inch taller then the Delton motor block. Well, I can’t just mount a new motor block, I have to…and…and of course if I am going that far then I have to…and…um…

It will be a Doozie
